NEW FEATURES
  1. Major Update: Donation Reports (Beta)
    1. Note: Please keep in mind, this is a beta release of this tool. Use with an abundance of caution while the tool is in beta. It has gone through extensive internal testing but we will be collecting additional usage data and feedback during this beta test.
We are thrilled to finally release a beta version of our new Donation Report Engine for all clients who use the Development module. This engine allows you to run powerful, data rich, and useful reports on your donation and donor data that you can use to communicate with your donors (via email or via printable letters) and provide reports to important advisors, such as board members. The tool is being released initially with a limited set of four reports listed and described below that work well for this beta testing period. We know this is a limited set of reports, but rest assured many additional reports that make use of the underlying engine will be released in the coming weeks and months including LYBNT/SYBNT reports, recency reports, and reports on the percentage of your constituents that have given, so stay tuned for those! You may locate these new reports by going to Donations > Donation Reports. For a free demo please contact us at support@bigsis.com.
    2. Top Donors by Donor Profile
      1. Report that displays the top number/percent of donor profiles based on the criteria you select below. For example, you may use this report to get the top 10 donor profiles for the month of May, the top 1% of donor profiles who donated to the Annual Campaign, the top 5 donor profiles who have pledged the most money, etc.
    3. Donations By Person
      1. Report that displays each donation made by an individual that matches the filters and parameters specified. For example, you can use this report to get a list of all donations made by John Smith for the Annual Campaign between October 1 and October 31 of last year.
    4. Donations by Donor Profile
      1. Report that displays each donation made by a donor profile that match the filters and parameters specified. For example, you can use this report to get a list of all donations made by John and Mary Smith for the Annual Campaign between October 1 and October 31 of last year.
    5. Donation Summary By Person
      1. Report that displays a giving summary for the individual returned. The giving summary export displays two main sets of giving information for the individual returned by the report: first, an output of the giving summary for the specific criteria you select (e.g., if you select a specific campaign and date range, then the report will display a giving summary of just that campaign and date range); second, an output of the lifetime giving summary of that individual.
    6. Donation Summary by Donor Profile
      1. Report that displays a giving summary for the donor profile returned. The giving summary export displays two main sets of giving information for the donor profile returned by the report: first, an output of the giving summary for the specific criteria you select (e.g., if you select a specific campaign and date range, then the report will display a giving summary of just that campaign and date range); second, an output of the lifetime giving summary.
  2. Filters throughout the system have received an update to allow for organizing filters by category. Now, when creating a new filter (or when editing an existing filter) you may assign that filter to a category. All filters assigned to a category are now grouped together in the filter menu. To add a filter category, your user account must have the “Advanced” permission setting. If your user account does not have the Advanced permission setting, you will only be able to select from pre-existing categories when assigning a category to a filter. If you do have the Advanced permission setting, you may create new categories. This new feature allowing better filter organization was created in part to coincide with the release of the new donation report engine that allows you to use powerful filters to run donation reports.
  3. To further assist in filter organization, custom filters on the people table have been moved to their own dropdown menu. Feedback from several schools indicated that the list of custom filters became difficult to manage when there were many custom filters. To resolve this concern, custom filters were moved to their own menu to make them easier to access when there is a long list of them. At this time, this feature is only available on the people table because this is the one table that, based on feedback, frequently contained the most custom filters. Custom filters on all other tables remain where they have always been, under the default “Filters” dropdown menu.
  4. A column for “Student School District” has been added to the enrollment table export options.
  5. The option to add a public document to both the Parent Portal and the Employee Portal at the same time has been added. You will see now see two “tag” fields when adding a public document, thus allowing you to add the document to the portal for both parents and employees without having to add the document separately to both portals.
  6. We have added enrollment information to the “Quickview” tool for wards of guardians. In the past when using the “Quickview” tool for a person record, if that person was a guardian it would not show the enrollment information for their child. Now, we represent the “Current Enrollment” as well as “Upcoming Enrollment” information including the program of enrollment, below the ward’s personal information.
  7. The “Emergency Contacts” report now has the option to remove the page break between students. This option, “Remove Page Break,” will remove all page breaks and each student will appear one after the other, rather than having one page per student.
  8. Two new donation alerts have been added. The first is titled “Offline Pledge Received” and will alert you whenever someone has made an a payment to a pledge through the portal. The second is titled “Recurring Gift Changed,” and will alert you whenever a change has been made to a recurring gift in the portal. These changes include when a user changes the amount of the recurring gift, changes payment information, changes payment schedule, or cancels further payments and closes the recurring gift.
  9. BigSIS has internally made it easier to adjust usernames upon request. You no longer have to use a workaround to achieve this, just contact support@bigsis.com when this becomes necessary and we can adjust the username of any user now.
  10. A new label, “Comments” has been added to Assessment Reports. Now, Assessment Reports will have the “Comments” label above the student narrative section, when the option to “Show Narrative” is chosen and the student has a narrative to show. This should make it clearer to anyone reading reports where the narrative section for a course begins

FIXES
  1. Fixed an issue that was causing all students to be shown in the student drop down menu, when running the “By Student Detail” attendance report.
  2. An issue that was causing students with a future attrition date to not be returned when running the Enrollment Query tool for the current Academic Year has been remedied.
